Boday Yoga Teacher Jennie WilsonMy career began with Western medicine, first as a NYC Paramedic and then as a Registered Nurse at New York Presbyterian and Mount Sinai Hospitals in New York City.  My passion for health and wellness – also having worked as a personal trainer and Spinning instructor at New York Sports Clubs – led me to yoga and changed my life.

As opposed to the often impersonal and sterile world of allopathic medicine, yoga led me into a different direction.  I experienced a new aspect of myself, a restorative physical & mental practice, and a deep devotion to nature, mind and body.

My love of yoga and interest in the Eastern healing arts led to a 200-hours teacher training at Sonic Yoga in New York City in 2006 where I had the honor of studying with Jonathan Fields, Lauren Hanna and Johanna Aldrich. I recently finished my advanced training with Laurie Ahlemann of the Long Island Yoga School at the 500-hours Level.

I have also studied with Shiva Rea on retreat in Trivandrum, India and Baron Baptiste in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  In addition to my esteemed teacher trainers I include Seane Corn as an inspiration in my life and yoga practice.

My interest in alternative healing led to New York State professional licensure as a Massage Therapist following training at the Swedish Institute in New York City.  In addition to teaching group yoga classes I am a lecturer at the Long Island Yoga School and have a Massage Therapy Practice.
