Jennie Wilson, RN, LMT, E-RYT
Jennie's career began with Western medicine, first as a NYC Paramedic and then as a Registered Nurse at New York Presbyterian and Mount Sinai Hospitals in New York City. Her passion for health and wellness – also having worked as a Personal Trainer and Spinning Instructor at New York Sports Clubs – led her to yoga which changed her life. As opposed to the often impersonal and sterile world of allopathic medicine, yoga took her in a different direction. Jennie experienced a new aspect of herself, a restorative physical & mental practice, and a deep devotion to nature, mind and body.
Jennie's love of yoga and interest in the Eastern healing arts led to a 200-hours teacher training at Sonic Yoga in New York City in 2006 where she had the honor of studying with Jonathan Fields, Lauren Hanna and Johanna Aldrich. She then went on to her advanced training with Laurie Ahlemann of the Long Island Yoga School at the 500-hours Level. Jennie also studied with Shiva Rea on retreat in Trivandrum, India and Baron Baptiste in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to her esteemed teacher trainers she includes Seane Corn as an inspiration in my life and yoga practice.
Her interest in alternative healing led to New York State professional licensure as a Massage Therapist following training at the Swedish Institute in New York City. In addition to teaching group yoga classes she is a lecturer at the Long Island Yoga School and has a Massage Therapy Practice.
