Benefits of Yoga
Yoga is the union of breath with movement. Each asana (posture) contributes to your body’s increased capacity to open, creating length and space between muscles, improving flexibility and range of motion. Through yoga practice, your muscles and organs receive vital energy as breath expands throughout your body. Cleansing and detoxification occurs, which begins to affect your overall sense of well-being, mindfulness, and inner calm.
The benefits of yoga vary depending on how often you practice.
1-2 classes a week
You may see improvement in flexibility, balance, postural alignment, as well as stress reduction. The day of practice some yogis will sleep better, especially post-evening practice.
3-4 classes a week
You may see significant improvement in your overall sense of well-being. You may also experience an increase in strength, flexibility, balance, and energy. Yoga practice three to four times per week will increase oxygen and blood flow to the organs, improving overall health.
Daily practice
You will experience a profound change in emotional stability, mental clarity and a deepening inner awareness. You will achieve greater endurance, strength, energy, vitality and lasting peace.
